Department of Chemistry
The discipline of Chemistry was introduced at Sonari College in the year 1984. The Major Course was started with due permission from Dibrugarh University vide permission letter No. DU/RG/DCDC/Aff-Perm./2001/997-1001 dated 27.11.2001 in the year 2001-02. At present, the Department offers the three-year Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc) course in Chemistry under the CBCS (Choice Based Credit System) system, the four-year Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc) course in Chemistry under the FYUGP system, and also offers the subject for a two-year Higher Secondary course.

Founded in 1970 and is affiliated to Dibrugarh University, Sonari college offers undergraduate degree courses in science and arts.
