MISSION AND VISION OF THE DEPARTMENT

The discipline of Education was introduced at Sonari College in the year 1970.The Major Course was started with due permission from Dibrugarh University vide permission letter No. DU/Admn/AFF/3204-07 dated 23-08-1978 .Total student enrolled in the first batch in Major Course was only with four students.

MISSION OF EDUCATION  DEPARTMENT:

• To enhance students knowledge and understanding in multidisciplinary subjects in such a way that they can relate with the subject matter practically.
• To imbibe them with the spirit of competence, communication skills, confidence and dexterous intellectual values by developing their physical as well as social performances.
• To develop vocational education and skill education to improve employability of students graduating from the department.
• To enhance access to Higher Education ensuring equity and in particular to the vulnerable section of the society.
• To help students develop in all the spheres i.e spiritually,morally,intellectually,socially,emotionally,as well as physically so that they can form a right attitude for facing the social,economic and other problems of the society.

VISION OF  EDUCATION  DEPARTMENT:

To provide affordable quality education which will help students to develop their knowledge,skills and value so that the learners can realize their full potential and can contribute its fullest in the Higher Education sector with equity,inclusion and excellence .Thus, the department of education envision to prepare creative, ulturally competent, critically reflective graduates with possess deep knowledge in their fields of study while maintaining ethics, morality and empathy for creating a better future for themselves and for the society.
